The Google Enterprise message to South African business

Johannesburg, 07 Mar 2013

Grove Group, a leading cloud service provider in South Africa, is extremely excited to be co-hosting 'Going Google Africa' with Google Enterprise and partners DotModus and 28East. The event will host CEOs and CIOs to demonstrate the critical role online solutions are playing in business, and the shift from personal productivity to collaboration across physical boundaries.

The 'Going Google Africa' event is part of a global Google Enterprise road show, with similar events taking place all over the world. November 2012 saw the first road show of its kind on the African continent being held in Kenya, while 19 March 2013 will see 'Going Google Africa' taking place in South Africa for the first time.

The objective of this unique event is to present the Google Enterprise message to South African business. Every day, millions of companies, schools and governments around the world run their organisations on Google's enterprise solutions, including Google Apps, the Google Search Appliance, Google Maps and Earth, and the Google Cloud Platform. It is also an opportunity to hear from local customers in addition to hearing a diverse range of views and perspectives from industry thought-leaders.

Joining the local South African partners (Grove Group, DotModus and 28East) to discuss the state and future of business technology in South Africa includes prominent Googlers Sebastien Marotte, VP of Google Enterprise EMEA; Luke McKend, Country Manager Google SA; Brett St Clair, Google SA; Ruben Van der Stockt, Google Security Expert based in Belgium; and Neil Gyte, Enterprise Geo Lead - Emerging Markets at Google. Grove Group CEO, Pip Witheridge, stated that the Web is fundamentally changing the way we work and removing the borders. Events like this provide the opportunity to demonstrate how technology and the Internet are helping businesses to grow and Grove Group is really pleased to be involved.

Some of the highlights to be included are:

* Customers' stories of business transformation
* Cloud, business and technology trend predictions from industry experts
* Live solution demonstrations from Googlers and partners
* An opportunity to engage with senior Google executives
* Networking with business contemporaries

The industry experts promise a thought-provoking and insightful discussion around the 'Business and Technology trends for the Future' and include: Mark Casey, Deloitte; Paul Carter-Brown, Group CIO of Smile Communications; Marc Balkin, Hasso Plattner Ventures Africa; and Simon Dingle, who currently heads up product strategy and design at 22seven and is technology editor at Finweek and hosts (tech) 5 on 5FM.

The event is open to C-level executives and senior IT executives only, who can register directly on the Web site - www.goinggoogleafrica.com.
