Great Plains Africa, a leading provider of e-business solutions, recently established a channel partner in Mauritius, thus increasing the number of partners in Africa to over 40 with over 500 installed sites on the continent.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of global leader Great Plains Inc, Great Plains Africa - based in Johannesburg - is responsible for driving growth on the African continent.

Douglas Reid, GM of Great Plains Africa, cautions that while the business opportunities in Africa are abundant, business people need to do their homework before moving into a new country - making sure that they are fully of the logistical challenges they might face like expensive and irregular flights and a lack of good infrastructures.

Great Plains Africa has partners in, Kenya, Nigeria, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Mauritius to name a few, and installed sites span countries including, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zanzibar and Mozambique. Customers that are cross continental include Old Mutual and Multichoice.

Great Plains Africa is responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities on the continent. It also distributes software to reseller partners and brings staff members to South Africa for training in implementation and support.

Partners sell and support Great Plains` e-business solutions to African businesses fast realising the benefits of business processes. The Great Plains solution automates processes ranging from financials, distribution, enterprise reporting, project series and HR to customer services and support.
