Prudential Retail selects Seagate Software`s Seagate Info to distribute accurate and reliable scheduled reports to nation wide sales force Ealing, London, March 5 - Prudential Assurance has chosen Seagate Software`s Seagate Info (SI), the enterprise-wide analysis and reporting tool, to create and distribute accurate and timely sales and compliance reports to the company`s managers throughout Prudential Retail UK branch offices.
SI forms a major element of the Prudential`s Customer Management Programme. This will develop a set of reusable services and technologies to enhance the Prudential`s competitive edge. SI will provide the Advanced Reporting service.
SI will deliver reports via a WAN to Prudential Branches. A small number of key reports will be distributed directly to users at home via e-mail.
Prudential looked at 18 products from 14 vendors, evaluating each against business and architectural requirements. Analyst companies Bloor and Gartner were also consulted before three companies were placed on the shortlist.
"Our sales information needs to be distilled into concise reports and delivered across a wide area network to a large number of users - so flexibility and scalability were among the key purchase drivers. Many BI vendors claim to support large scale enterprise-wide solutions, Seagate Software was able to back this up with real world reference sites," says Richard Wallond, manager of the selection process for the Prudential.
Ease of use through an intuitive interface was a key business driver. "Business users liked the concept of the Info Desktop which provides a Windows Explorer type interface to display functional groups of reports that could be viewed or scheduled. In addition, the report viewer provides users with a simple interface that requires minimal training," concludes Wallond.
"This is the start of a long term strategic partnership that will benefit both Seagate Software and Prudential. We already have Seagate Software staff integrated within our project team to ensure that we have the best placed resources to assist with the design and the development of the system. Looking further ahead we have already begun discussions with Seagate Software over the product`s future and the direction we expect SI to take."
