Leading notebook retailer, The Notebook Company (www.notebook.co.za), is giving away R100 000 worth of discount vouchers on M-Web`s new on-line banking and shopping service, www.icanonline.co.za
Icanonline shoppers will be able to obtain these digital gift vouchers on-line and use them to gain discounts for a wide range of electronic items from The Notebook Company - including "substantial" discounts on laptops.
Christopher Riley, general manager of The Notebook Company, said he believes icanonline is "one of the better on-line shopping sites" at the moment.
"One of the major drawcards of the new site is that it uses a debit card system. Instead of focusing on just credit card clients it is making this service available to a broader base of people. There are less than 2 million holders of credit cards in SA. That is a limiting factor. But by making it possible to use debit cards, icanonline is immediately appealing to a wider potential audience."
Even people without a bank account, or who bank elsewhere, can open an icanonline account through the web-site and then debit it when they buy goods or financial services.
The Notebook Company sells a wide range of brand-name laptops, including Acer, IBM, Compaq, Toshiba and Mecer.
