South African based-theredgiftbag.com received the international "Golden Web Award" awarded by The International Association of Web Masters and Designers. The association recognises Web sites worldwide for surpassing excellence in their Web design, Web originality and Web content.
Madelein Grobbelaar, Marketing Manager for theredgiftbag.com, says: "We are delighted with the honour of winning the award, it brings us closer to our mission which is to be the world`s number one gift-giving specialists! We realise that the client`s day-to-day business activities consume a lot of valuable time and that is why we make it our business to take some of the stress and hassle out of selecting and sending that perfect gift. We provide excellent solutions to all gift-giving needs."
Following its launch only a few months ago, theredgiftbag.com has already had a total of 31 950 successful hits on the entire Web site, with an average of 1 020 visitor sessions. Some 30% of the hits on the Web site have been from North America. The most active countries logging onto the Web site are the US, SA and Western Europe. Theredgiftbag.com has also had numerous hits from the following countries: Netherlands, Germany and the AU. Of the entire visitor`s profile, 37% are international visitors.
The conglomeration of the various categories on theredgiftbag.com attracts a number of diverse shoppers to the site. Research shows that a person would tell four people about a recent traditional purchase experience, tell six people about a recent eat-out experience, whereas they would tell 12 people about a recent Internet shopping experience.
Says Grobbelaar: "More and more consumers are switching to online shopping as way of buying a wide variety of goods and services. Shopping on the Internet can be a very impersonal experience. With our warm colours of red and gold, and our one-on-one interaction, we make Internet shopping a personal experience and this is one of theredgiftbag.com`s distinguishing factors."
This online-based company has a unique function called the `Personal Shopper`, a team of creative specialists working with customers to help them create original gift hampers that will suit the shoppers gift-giving needs. Shoppers can also choose to create their own gifts from the selection of individual items that go into a gift hamper. If an item requested is not listed on the site, the item can be sourced (eg perfume, etc).
Other options are the personalization of promotional goods for corporate clients, a gift registry with RSVP capabilities and a reminder service that notifies clients via SMS, fax or e-mail.
Theredgiftbag.com offers clients a system where an order for gift hampers can be placed 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week without ever leaving the comfort of their office or home. Some of the existing categories on the site include Congratulations, For Him and Her, Romance and the South African selection gift baskets. All of these can be viewed on the site, www.theredgiftbag.com.
