Thinstall releases new application

Thinstall has unveiled Application Virtualization Suite 3.0, which simplifies application processes by removing the need for a pre-installed client and allows the applications to run securely from any shared drive, reports ThomasNet.

Thinstall is a client-less application solution that lets applications be packaged into simple EXE files that run in user-mode, isolated from the host PC, and reduces the costs associated with deployment. This reduces the time associated with regression testing, application deployment and end-user support instances.

The client-less architecture allows "Thinstalled" applications to be run from any LAN, WAN, USB, or CD-Rom drive, with zero-footprint on the host PC.

Verizon enhances business continuity portfolio

Verizon Business has added new capabilities to its business portfolio, increasing the ability of large-business and government customers to maintain operations during unforeseen events such as natural disasters, equipment failures and building evacuations, according to Yahoo Finance.

The new offerings will help organisations to develop effective response plans, events and quickly communicate with customers, partners and employees.

The pace of unforeseen events such as virus attacks, power failures, bio-terrorism, bomb threats and building evacuations has grown in both frequency and potential cost. The impact of a network outage, hazardous material spill or any type of natural disaster can be measured in lost revenue, lower productivity and loss of brand reputation.

Amcom, Prevalent Networks form alliance

Amcom has partnered with Prevalent Networks, which will see the companies co-market and co-sell their business continuity offerings.

Customers will benefit by having access to complete standards-based business continuity and disaster recovery programmes that include all the components necessary for both planning and execution of emergency response actions.

"Every company has a very unique set of needs and procedures as it relates to business continuity and disaster recovery," says Jonathan Dambrot, MD, Prevalent Networks. "By offering mutual customers access to both planning resources, along with Amcom's e.Notify mission-critical communications system, they get the best of both."
