Thirty Pinnacle Micro customers attend Rugby World Cup in Paris

Johannesburg, 07 Nov 2007

As part of Pinnacle Micro`s partnership programme, 30 valued customers attended the recent Rugby World Cup in Paris. The customers were chosen for their financial performances based on their June 2006 - June 2007 financial figures.

In terms of the Pinnacle Micro partnership incentive programme, companies were placed in groupings - and according to regions - and were given quarterly targets.

The top-performing companies were then selected to spend 12 days in Paris, attending two semi-final clashes, the third and fourth place play-off and the final match at the Rugby World Cup.

Tim Humphreys-Davies, national sales and marketing director of Pinnacle Micro, said the company received great support from several vendors, who contributed financially to the costs of the rugby cup trip.

Those vendors who participated included Intel, Canon, Logitech, MSI, Verbatim, D-Link, Microsoft and Hitachi.

Humphreys-Davies said the trip forms one of the highlights of the Pinnacle Micro Calendar year. "The fact that South Africa won the world cup was the cherry on the top, of course. But we, as a company, view this as a relationship-building exercise. We base our business on building relationships and this is just one of the ways we show our valued customers and business partners how much we appreciate their loyalty and hard work.

"South Africa is a sports-mad country, and rugby has played a strong part in nation building in this country. Seeing the support the Springboks received on their return - from all races and from people from all walks of life - shows just how much a sport like rugby can pull people together. It was quite apt, therefore, that we chose this momentous event to celebrate with our customers."

Those companies chosen to attend the Rugby World Cup included four from Johannesburg, four from Cape Town, two from Durban, Port Elizabeth and Namibia and one each from Nelspruit, Botswana and Bloemfontein.

In addition to the attendance of Pinnacle Micro`s top customers, the company`s top brand and branch managers also attended the world cup. Tiens Lange from Johannesburg was given the nod as the best brand manager, while Johan Herselman from Port Elizabeth was announced as the best branch manager.
