Three major banking deals for Glotec partner Temenos

Johannesburg, 29 Jan 2002

Global Technology partner, Temenos, has signed three major contracts to deliver its international integrated banking software to financial institutions in the US, Russia and Vietnam.

The new clients are Mellon Financial Corporation, Trust and Investment Bank of Russia (TIB), and Vietnam-based Techcom Bank.

"These three significant wins further enhance Temenos`s growing reputation as the leading supplier of integrated banking systems throughout the world," says Ray Leonard, CEO of Global Technology.

"The contract with Mellon Financial expands Temenos`s presence in the US, while both TIB and Techcom Bank represent its efforts to move into new geographical regions. This brings the number of countries with Temenos installations to 96."

Mellon Financial Corporation, a first tier institution with over $2.6 trillion in assets under management, will be using Temenos`s flagship banking system, GLOBUS, in its international cash management operations in Boston, London, and Toronto. GLOBUS will also provide core-banking capabilities to TIB, enabling the forward-looking bank to realise its vision to become a world-class merchant and investment bank. The bank is currently one of the five largest in Russia.

In addition, at Hanoi-based Techcom Bank, GLOBUS will provide IT infrastructure that will allow the bank to develop and deliver a broad range of products and services while providing superior customer service.
