Software development company Tilos has appointed Q Data DynamiQue, a division of Comparex Africa, as a value-added reseller (VAR) of its Tilos software suite. The appointment will see Tilos`s locally developed software being offered with UniQue, Q Data DynamiQue`s integrated HR and payroll solution.
Among other benefits, Tilos`s software will be used to extend UniQue to the Web, giving employees easier access to their personal information stored on the HR system.
"With the increasing use of the Web, users needed our functionality through this new channel and Tilos has helped deliver that for us," says Rob Bothma, divisional manager, product strategy, marketing and sales at Q Data DynamiQue.
Q Data DynamiQue has identified a number of clients as clear candidates for Tilos`s suite, in effect creating significant up- and cross-selling opportunities for Tilos.
"Q Data DynamiQue is the market leader in HR and payroll solutions, with around 400 direct clients, and in excess of 1 000 others using its solutions through bureaux. Some of these clients have between 40 000 and 60 000 employees each," says Sybille McCloghrie, director at Tilos.
Q Data DynamiQue offers its solutions throughout Africa. Its leading offering is DynamiQue 1.0, a SQL Server-based system, which features integrated HR, payroll, time management and a view mode, Web-based employee self-service module. UniQue is the other HR administration and payroll component in the stable; it is also fully compliant with South African labour legislation and, like DynamiQue 1.0, has a specific focus on the Employment Equity and Skills Development Acts.
The UniQue solution now has full world-class self-service capability underpinned by the Tilos products, including its workflow engine, to ensure that all the client organisation`s policies and procedures are adhered to as part of any transaction`s lifecycle. The self-service module also has a kiosk version, developed by Tilos, which is largely language-independent through a graphical user interface driven by touch-screen technology.
"Employee self-service should be no more complex than a banking ATM," says Bothma. "There are various types of self-service. A Web front-end does not necessarily mean self-service; it simply means access. True self-service is underpinned by a workflow engine that can manage all the business rules for all transactions and push information proactively through the organisation. The more traditional and passive approach means that HR-related information becomes obsolete at a rapid rate whereas, by adopting our self-service, data accuracy can be of the highest quality. Resulting decisions will ultimately improve an organisation`s ability to meet its overall goals and objectives." By making it easier for people to view and update their information via the Web, while maintaining full control, companies will derive greater benefit from employee information, and use it as an incentive, such as by e-mailing payslips to employees.
