More than 20 senior Gartner analysts will headline this year's Symposium/ITxpo.

In less than a week, analysts, senior IT executives and CIOs will gather at the Cape Town International Convention Centre for the Gartner Africa Symposium/ITxpo 2016.

Now in its 15th year, the Gartner Symposium focuses on providing a strategic view on the trends that shape IT and business.

Under the theme "Lead 360 Drive Digital to the Core", the symposium will focus on making a digital business real, and coping with the further implications of what this shift entails.

More than 20 senior Gartner analysts will present key industry insights, forecasts and advice for CIOs and IT leaders.

The company says: "Most delegates will already understand the potential of digital business. Symposium 2016 will go further than just 'potential' to show how companies are benefiting now, and how you can too."

"Look ahead; plan accordingly. That strategy makes sense until you are competing at digital speeds and need to drive digital innovation to the core of every process, product, and service. Your next asset or technology partner could be anywhere: Incubating just beyond your peripheral vision. The ability to expand your mindset and see the future in 360 becomes essential."

Gartner global head of research Peter Sondergaard will open the event. Well-known business speaker Vusi Thembekwayo, as well as chair of Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance, Okendo Lewis-Gayle will be keynote speakers.

Speakers will deliver the following topics:

*Digital business platforms: integrating your business ecosystems - David Willis;

*Competing in a platform world - Darryl Plummer;

*The CEO perspective - Mark Raskino;

*The top ten technology trends - Steve Prentice;

*The future of data and analytics: empowerment and anarchy in SA - Frank Buytendijk; and

*Top trends tech trends and their impact on IT and operations - Phil Dawson.

The research firm says: "Delegates can be sure they will have insight into the most pressing issues facing local and African companies."

The Gartner Symposium will take place in Cape Town from 26 to 28 September.
