Novell SA has announced the launch of its new partner programme and has awarded Titan IT, along with two other resellers, Novell Platinum Partner status.
"Platinum Partners are Novell`s premier partners based on revenue history, black economic empowerment and skill levels. Platinum Partners are those companies that can influence the larger part of our business moving forward," says Trish Barwick, marketing and channel manager of Novell SA. "These partners will be able to competently sell, integrate and support all of Novell`s solutions."
Novell now has a three-tiered channel programme, with a silver partner being the entry-level status, gold the intermediate and platinum the premier status. Novell will keep the platinum programme exclusive and it will be based on annual revenue.
"We have had a very long and fruitful relationship with Novell over the past seven years," comments Michael Yates, managing director of Titan IT.
"We feel that Novell`s move to award us with Platinum Partner status builds on the good relationship we have developed over the years and gives the rest of their channel the confidence to grow.
"This new programme structure has been designed to benefit the customer directly rather than just holding an advantage for the partner. We see the commitment to preferential support for Platinum Partners` customers as one of the most important changes," continues Yates.
"During the last year there have been many changes within Novell, the largest being the purchase of SUSE Linux. The impact of this has not only affected the market, but it has also impacted on Novell`s partners and their ability to support the move," comments Yates. "As a key partner to Novell, we have embraced these changes and challenges to ensure we can maintain our level of service offerings to Novell customers, and the new programme further expands our ability to deliver."
