Local analyst and consultancy firm Marketworks has developed an advisory oversight tool to help organisations better determine the outcome of tenders, proposals and solutions.
"We can assess the likelihood of success of a tender using a statistical model - something particularly useful in the IT space since it is often difficult to evaluate the disparate responses received from vendors," says business and technology advisor at Marketworks Craig Terblanche.
Elements of the tool have been used in part on various projects, he notes. It has not been used in its entirety by businesses and has been under development for some time.
Research from the Butler Group, Datamonitor and Compuwire is used, adds Terblanche.
Marketworks will primarily be focusing on the public sector, as well as the telecoms and financial services industries.
"Our process builds a model of client attributes (economic and functional) and success factors that are compared to a best practice model of the require solution," he explains, pointing to the high number of ICT failed tenders, particularly in government.
