Top quality with Philips` latest multimedia projector

Johannesburg, 12 May 2003

Philips has extended its bSure multimedia projector range to include two new models - bSure XG2 and SV2 Brilliance. Both have high lighting capabilities and new features, which build on this successful range and increase the strength of Philips` projectors within the market.

Tyrone Young, marketing manager: monitors and LCD projectors at Philips SA, explains that the bSure Brilliance range has 500-700 ANSI lumens more than the other projectors of the bSure 2 series. "These earlier introduced projectors have been developed specifically for the education market and small/medium-sized businesses.

"The extra brightness of the new series makes them suitable for large meeting rooms with long projection distances, without the need to close the blinds or in lecture halls that can`t be darkened easily," he says.

Accommodating a variety of media inputs, the bSure Brilliance series boasts outstanding data and video signal quality making these projectors the perfect solution for applications that demand high image integrity, such as DVD and HDTV. This input is standard for all digital sources and guarantees the best picture possible without additional cables.

Young adds: "The Philips bSure Brilliance series` picture quality is enhanced by ColourTracking, which automatically adjusts image settings to achieve natural colours or maximum brightness. While the plug-and-play connectivity, intuitive one-touch operations and straightforward on-screen menus make them easy to use."

The PS/2 mouse loop through gives the presenter control over the mouse cursor via the remote control without USB and a continuous monitor loop through feature enables presenters to see the image being projected without having to turn away from the audience.

The Philips bSure Brilliance series comes with a number of new features including a remote control with laser-pointer as a standard accessory and YourLogo, allowing a company`s brand or corporate identity to replace the standard login screen when the projector is turned on.

Every Philips bSure Brilliance projector is fitted with SecurityMax. This anti-theft system includes a customisable, non-erasable start-up text to identify the owner, and a special shutdown timer. As a further deterrent, there`s also the option of fitting a Kensington lock.

The new bSure Brilliance Series builds on Philips` tradition of offering advanced display functionality in an affordable and low-maintenance package, backed by a three-year warranty.
