AmVia, sponsor and chair of the forthcoming e-Mail Management Conference, today confirmed it will bring out UK e-mail expert Alex Purkiss, Business Development Manager Europe for EMC Software, to deliver the conference`s opening address.
The conference, which takes place on 5 and 6 October 2004 at the Park Hyatt in Rosebank, Johannesburg, is organised by Marcus Evans Conferences.
Says Kevin Hurwitz, Managing Director of AmVia: "Alex Purkiss is one of the UK`s pre-eminent authorities on e-mail management and, more importantly, is familiar with our local e-mail landscape. His most recent visit to SA, also at our invitation, was in August last year when he addressed delegates at another e-mail focused conference on a similar subject. The tremendous positive reception he received then was sufficient to convince us that he is the right speaker for this event."
Conference Chairman and AmVia Director Robyn Grobbelaar will open the proceedings on Tuesday, 5 October, after which Purkiss will deliver his address entitled `Building a Business Case for e-Mail Management`.
In this address, Purkiss will define what is meant by e-mail management before moving on to cover many of the issues and concerns surrounding e-mail management that are currently keeping executives awake at night. Among others, he will tackle the issues of how to project e-mail growth and business reliance on e-mail as well as comprehending the risks organisations are exposed to via e-mail.
EMC Software is distributed in SA by value-added distributor AmVia. The firm is the acknowledged global leader in e-mail management software and its various Legato solutions are presently setting the standards worldwide for e-mail management - from archiving, to storage and compliance management.
