Clothing retailer Topics South Africa is to launch a pilot project using Information Dynamics (ID) retail software, Retailsoft.
Topics will kick off the pilot at one store in June, after which it expects to roll-out the software at all its retail operations.
Nico Esterhuizen, GM of Cape Town-based ID, says system testing began in January and should be completed by the end of this month. Esterhuizen says due to clauses in the contract, he cannot elaborate on the details of the solution.
However, he says the company will provide a complete retail system customised to suit Topics` individual business requirements.
"Retailsoft solutions provided to Topics, Woolworths` international franchisees and other clients are tailored to suit their individual business needs, thus software modules vary, including applications such as inventory control, sales and replenishment."
Esterhuizen says ID is talking to other retailers in SA and Africa, and will soon announce new deals. The company also expects to expand. "As from 2006 onwards, ID plans to open two more branches in Johannesburg and Durban."
