Mthunzi Mdwaba, Executive Chairman of Torque Holdings, was appointed as Secretary General of the executive board of the Black Information Technology Forum (BIT4F)- Gauteng, at a meeting held in Sunninghill last night by the executive committee.
The BIT4F has recently launched an Accredited BIT4F Company (ABC) Programme that it can use to identify black-owned companies that it can support, partner and work with to assist them in growing from medium-sized enterprises to large players in the IT industry.
Says Mdwaba, "It is a great honour to be appointed to the board, and I look forward to working with an exceptional team of individuals to bring about much needed change in the South African IT industry. As a black business owner within the industry, I am aware of the challenges facing small and medium sized business wishing to grow, and hope to contribute towards making it easier for those that follow in the future."
