Recently announced Toshiba performance upgrades for its desktop combination CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive as well as the slim CD-R/RW drive for mobile computer systems, is available through CompuTrolley.com.
The enhanced capabilities provide OEM customers and end users with greater functionality for the growing range of computer applications that require solid storage solutions.
"The SD-R1202 combination drive, suited for integration in or as an upgrade to desktop PCs, increases PC functionality with faster speeds for file sharing, CD writing and DVD playback," says Gary Naidoo, national product manager at local Toshiba storage devices distributor, CompuTrolley.com.
The new combination drive provides maximum write speeds of 16x for CD-R and 10x for CD-RW, with maximum read speeds of 12x for DVD-ROM and 40x for CD-ROM.
"Because Toshiba`s combination drive allows end-users to determine their choice of media, they can experience the benefits of both CD writing and DVD playback technologies," notes Naidoo. "The drive`s improved performance enables users to access, read and write files faster than ever before."
