Toshiba extends customer initiative

Johannesburg, 19 Jun 2009

Toshiba has extended its No Matter What Guarantee from 30 April to 31 August.

This initiative is designed to offer consumers several benefits when they shop for a new PC, says a statement.

The company says as part of the scheme, customers purchasing Toshiba laptops are eligible for advanced cover against accidental damage to their laptop and against product theft.

Toshiba is also offering a customer satisfaction guarantee, at no extra cost, that allows consumers to return the product they have purchased if they decide it is not what they were looking for.

Reon Coetzee, Toshiba Computer Systems sales manager for SADC and ROA, says: “We're delighted to extend the No Matter What Guarantee in SA. The scheme exists solely to provide consumers with additional confidence when purchasing Toshiba laptops, and shows the high esteem in which we hold the products that we produce.“

Sales expectations

According to IDC, global shipments of PCs slid 7.1% in the first quarter, although falling prices and the increasing popularity of netbooks helped keep sales from slipping further.

According to global research firm Gartner, future growth in PC sales during the next four years will be fuelled by steady home market growth in both mature and emerging markets.

In addition, direct market will be the fastest-growing indirect sales channel. Indirect PC sales are expected to account for 80% of worldwide PC shipments by 2012.
