Toshiba extends warranty offering to protect from life's little accidents

Toshiba South Africa now offers a range of extension guarantees for purchase, to supplement its standard one-year International Warranty.

This means South African Toshiba customers are able to benefit from the full range of warranty products, in line with the brand's international product offering.

“Toshiba products are known for their robust reliability and excellent quality,” says Andre Goosen at Toshiba South Africa. “However, life happens - by their nature, notebooks in particular are vulnerable to bumps and scrapes that may affect the functioning of the device, and their mobility makes them vulnerable to loss or theft. We know that our customers put our products through their paces, wherever they may be, and our range of warranties give them the reassurance of quick, painless support when they need it the most.”

The standard International Warranty allows customers to take their Toshiba product in need of repair to any Toshiba Authorised Service Provider worldwide. If the standard terms and conditions are met, the parts and labour costs incurred in the repair are provided free of charge. This warranty is included in the purchase price of any Toshiba notebook.

Accidental Damage Protection Warranty

This warranty covers any destruction or damage to the Toshiba product that impacts its ability to function. This warranty is only covered in select countries - but South Africa is now included among them.

Theft Protection Warranty

The Theft Protection warranty covers any theft acknowledged by the police, where there are clear signs of a break-in or violence, which results in the loss of a laptop and the contents thereof.

The Unemployment Protection Warranty

This warranty is a safety net to protect from one of life's most unexpected and traumatic events: the loss of employment. This is particularly traumatic if the victim has just spent money on an investment like a notebook, at a time when they are likely to need every spare cent they can muster.

“There are some limitations to the warranties, but these are in place to encourage Toshiba customers to take the best possible care of their devices, and to be smart when it comes to backing up their data,” Goosen says.

While the International One-Year Warranty is standard with all Toshiba products, the extended warranties can be purchased at any time after the customer has taken their products out of the store. Contact details for purchase are provided on the packaging, and further information is available on Toshiba's South Africa Web site, www.toshiba.co.za.
