Newsweaver named winner
Europe's e-mail newsletter provider, Newsweaver, was announced as winner of the eMarketing Award at the All-Ireland Marketing Awards, reports IT@Cork.
Organised by The Marketing Institute of Ireland, the aim of the All Ireland Marketing Awards is to promote excellence and best practice in all areas of marketing.
Newsweaver's winning campaign demonstrated how e-marketing was used to drive the company's expansion into the UK market in 2007. The online marketing campaign included pay-per-click advertising and search engine optimisation, combined with e-mail marketing and a dedicated blog.
Conservation-pushing utility not green?
Although Charleston Water System encourages conservation of its water, it does not offer electronic billing to promote paper saving and pollution reduction, states Charlston.net.
Customer Greg Yancey says: "They ask their customers to conserve water, so doesn't it make sense for a public utility to do the same with trees?"
Jenny Hagan, public relations manager for the utility, says: "We are working on improvements to our online bill payment system that will allow customers to view an actual copy of their bill online. Once this upgrade is complete, we do plan to offer paperless billing via e-mail, though I don't have a date for when it will be available."
