A new trade expo aimed at the SME sector will showcase technology solutions designed for that market.

The Equip Expo will run alongside Futurex and LinuxWorld, scheduled to take place from 16 to 19 May 2006, at the Sandton Convention Centre.

There is a marked increase in the number of office technology solutions targeted at SMEs, says Exhibitions for Africa director Aldean Prior.

"This is the first time exhibitors will be able to make sales on the stands and we believe this will draw more visitors to the show," she adds.

The expo will give attendees the opportunity to interact with the representatives and providers of these solutions, from retailers to vendors, she says.

Solutions in the audio-visual, consumables, document management, , mobile computing, and multifunction device arenas, among others, will be exhibited, says Prior.

Exhibitions for Africa confirmed the expo`s Web site at www.equipexpo.co.za would be live in a week.
