Transforming to The Dynamic Enterprise with Bytes Communication Systems

Johannesburg, 23 May 2008

Bytes Communication Systems' roadshow, which this year is themed "Giving YOU the competitive-edge", kicked off today in Johannesburg, at The Ballroom at Montecasino.

The highlight of the event was the keynote speech, delivered by Jan Zuurbier, vice-president of Alcatel-Lucent Emerging Markets.

During the presentation, Zuurbier delved into the revolution of the communications industry, the role of social networking and citizen journalism in the new communications landscape, and the part that unified communications has to play in helping organisations transform into The Dynamic Enterprise.

According to Zuurbier, the transformation of the communications industry is driven by several factors, including a new generation of workers who demand to be mobile and constantly connected, as well as next-generation Web protocols and new mandates for CIOs. But transformation brings with it challenges such as rising expectations, increased complexity and the necessity for improved performance. The Dynamic Enterprise framework enables organisations to not only meet these challenges but benefit and even profit from them as well.

The day focused on showing organisations how to revolutionise the way they do business through the latest in communications technology. During the live interactive demonstration streams Bytes Communication Systems delivered pragmatic answers to real technology challenges covering various aspects such as secured networks, unified communications, converged communications and contact centres. These demos were provided by experts from Bytes Communication Systems.

Says George Isaacson, Managing Director of Bytes Communication Systems: "The communications landscape is changing, and organisations need to know how they can use this transformation to their advantage. It is with this in mind that we decided to host a series of national roadshows, the first of which took place today."

Leveraging off their long-term partnership with Alcatel-Lucent, Bytes Communication Systems was able to show its commitment to South African enterprises. The company's promise for service delivery going forward is to ensure a portfolio of leading-edge technology supported by local highly skilled and accredited pre- and post-sales teams.

"Bytes Communication Systems has been a trusted supplier in the ICT sector for more than 25 years. Our service commitment and strong business ethic have stood us in good stead as a trusted provider and integrator of ICT," Isaacson concludes.

The roadshow will move to Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront on 23 May 2008, and the final leg will be held in Durban at the Hilton Hotel on 6 June 2008.
