Transparency gives business credibility

Transparency in organisations is more important now than ever before, and companies need to become better at collaborating internally in order to achieve it.

This is according to Chris Bridgland, director of RSA, the division of EMC.

Internally, organisations face the challenge of performing daily tasks with the same resources and increasing pressures to continuously report on the state of the business, he emphasises.

Organisations need to be able to identify the major demands from , risk and compliance, and have the business at an “audit ready” state, which has to be as close to real-time as possible, he explains.

He says businesses need to know what questions to ask when choosing a governance, risk and compliance (GRC) tool, as this will ensure that management gets what it wants and not the promise of something that falls short.

Transparency is built on a culture of trust throughout the organisation, Bridgland emphasises.
