The new Trend Micro Virus Vulnerability Assessment Service is based on a special edition of eEye's Retina Network Security Scanner, an award-winning vulnerability assessment product. This new service will enable system integrators and security consultants to assess and report their clients' current network security level and identify potential security vulnerabilities.
According to a recent research report, nearly 40% of businesses surveyed acknowledged that their systems had been compromised in some manner during the past year. With the prevalence of such security threats, including viruses, denial of service attacks, and unauthorised access, organisations may not even realise how vulnerable they are and often may turn to the expertise of service providers as the only solution available.
Trend Micro Virus Vulnerability Assessment Service leverages the Retina Security Scanner as the primary diagnostic tool for reporting on the state of computer network security. Retina incorporates a comprehensive database of vulnerabilities database along with behavioural models to help identify known and unknown security vulnerabilities on Internet, intranet, and extranet systems. The anti-virus integrates audit reports on solutions from Trend Micro, Symantec and Network Associates' McAfee products and the resulting comprehensive report enables service providers to correlate inherent security vulnerabilities with potential virus and mal-ware infections.
