Trend Micro offers free services

vendor Trend Micro will waive fees associated with Worry-Free Remote Manager (WFRM) in Australia. WFRM is a hosted console that enables partners to centrally multiple customers from a single location, says CRN Australia.

According to Trend Micro, partners will be able to access WFRM to view their overall security status and centrally resolve issues for their Worry-Free customers.

Launched in 2007, WFRM was developed for the SME community; in particular partners running managed operations that were focused on recurring service revenue.

Nortel continues channel revamp

Nortel Networks says 2008 will see more enhancements to its channel programme as the Toronto-based vendor adds new training specialisations, focuses more on value over volume and enhances its relationships with distributors, says ChannelWeb.

The updates come as Nortel builds on the two-year plan it launched last March to re-invigorate its stable of VARs and distributors.

David Wilkinson, Nortel's VP of North American channel strategy, said 2007's decision to revamp its once "unpredictable" Partner Advantage channel programme business model resulted in the networking vendor focusing more on value than on volume.

C2C increases presence

E-mail archiving vendor C2C is continuing to increase its UK and Ireland channel presence by signing up four more partners through its recruitment drive, says vnunet.com.

Last week, reseller PFH Ireland and vendors Fortuna Power Systems, NAS and NexStor became C2C's newest members to join its partner programme.

The partner programme was originally launched last October at Storage Expo.
