Trend Micro targets stealthy hackers
risk management solutions provider Trend Micro says it can catch hackers in action breaking into networks and trying to steal secrets with a new line of line of network-analysis tools and security services, reports CIO.
Trend Micro's Real-Time Threat Management Solutions includes network appliances that monitor network traffic for signs of hacker entry or malware, such as outbound botnet traffic.
According to CRN, the security vendor says the solutions address advanced persistent threats; which are designed to infiltrate networks and steal classified and heavily-protected information.
The threat intelligence manager is an event management console designed to provide a bigger window into the security event lifecycle.
The new console, more tightly integrated with network servers, provides threat statistics, actionable intelligence, and advanced visualisation techniques, which allow IT administrators to rapidly analyse and remediate risk points.
CTO Edge says according to Dan Glessner, Trend Micro VP of enterprise marketing, the threat intelligence manager tracks active malware in real-time so IT organisations can remediate security issues faster.
“With the rise of more advanced persistent forms of malware, IT organisations need to be able to identify security issues in a matter of hours. All too often, IT organisations don't discover some forms of malware until weeks or even months have gone by,” he says.
