Trillium Software receives industry accolades from top analyst firms

Trillium Software has received industry recognition for its software from leading analyst firms, as well as independent publications. The company was ranked as a market leader in Meta Group`s METAspectrum report for data quality tools, and included in Gartner`s highest, assigned category of "positive" data quality vendors. Forrester Research also cites Trillium Software as the market leader for data quality and Current Analysis awarded the company its highest available ranking among data quality vendors.

The recently published METAspectrum evaluation provides an objective assessment of companies providing solutions used in the identification and remediation of problems with enterprise information assets. Trillium Software was positioned in the "leader" segment of the METAspectrum analysis for the second consecutive year, and was specifically recognised for its strength in "technical performance, command of market share and financial viability".

Following a Forrester Research report in July 2004 titled, "It`s A Buyer`s Market or Information Quality Software", in which respondents were questioned as to which data quality software, tools or technology they currently have in production, Trillium Software was cited as the market share leader among data quality vendors. More than 10% of the respondents used the Trillium Software System, compared to other named vendors, the closest of which had approximately half the market share of Trillium Software.

"In 2004, Trillium Software received `leadership` rankings from four leading market analyst firms, additional validation from DM Review, a global industry leading publication and strong support from customers," said Beth McKellar-Basset, sales and marketing director of MigrationWare`s Data Quality Division, distributor of Trillium Software in SA.

"Trillium Software was named a leader in the METAspectrum report based on technology presence and performance," said Andreas Bitterer, vice-president, Meta Group. "As we noted in the report, potential buyers should not become fixated on cleansing performance or accuracy as much as other key capabilities, such as data enrichment, data profiling, compliance, non-name/address logic, international data quality support and long-term viability."

The acquisition and subsequent merger by Trillium Software of data profiling leader Avellino Technologies, has resulted in the Trillium Software Solution Suite, an end-to-end solution that delivers total data quality. As well as contributing to positive analyst views, the integration has been well received by customers.

"We originally estimated that our investment would be recouped in around 12 months. I`d say it actually paid for itself in less than six months," said Robert Kent, CRM programme manager at The Carphone Warehouse.
