Trispen channels into Europe

Johannesburg, , 04 Jul 2000

The Bristol Group and Trispen Technologies have signed an agreement whereby Bristol will distribute Trispen`s IP-Granite products. Bristol will make the products available to their extensive partner in Germany and several European countries. The IP-Granite product suite provides authenticated and communication for Intranets and Internets.

"IP-Granite is an exciting new entrant in the market and significantly strengthens our ability to offer VPN technology to our channel," says Ruth Townsend, CEO of the Bristol Group. The IP-Granite products provide customers freedom of choice in both the cryptographic algorithms they would like to use and also in the length of the encryption keys. This capability is especially important to European customers.

Estimates vary but the consensus is that the market for VPN products is set to explode. According to TechnologyEvaluation.Com, the worldwide market for VPN products is expected to exceed $10bn by the year 2003. The Cahners In-Stat Group believes that the VPN market reached more than $2.6 billion in 1999, and will be worth more than $32 billion by 2003. "IP-Granite is well positioned in the market for affordable VPN products," adds Townsend.

"We are very excited about the added market penetration that this partnership will give us into the European marketplace," says Jaco Botha, CEO of Trispen Technologies. "We set out to find a quality partner with considerable market reach, technical and marketing expertise, who is excited about IP-Granite. In Bristol we have found such a partner."

IP-Granite provides a comprehensive suite of products that allow customers to build secure Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) based on the Protocol Security (IPSec) standard.

The IP-Granite workstation software provides peer-to-peer and host-to-gateway communication security for workstations running Microsoft Windows (95, 98 and NT) operating systems. The IP-Granite Gateway provides access to secured networks via the gateway and the Server Protector secures IP communications between workstations and servers. To complete the picture, the IP-Granite VPN Appliance provides a non-intrusive solution to secure existing networks. The device is a turnkey, fully embedded appliance suitable for building VPNs over the Internet, or securing existing dedicated networks.
