Thinking about buying an extra television set? Think again. Pinnacle Systems` PCTV Rave can turn your PC into a TV, with some extra features thrown in.
Distributed to the South African market by Rectron, the PCTV Rave PCI card transforms PCs into fully-functional TVs that feature channel navigation as well as an input for VCR or camcorder connectivity.
"The PCTV Rave enables you to alter the size of the viewing window, which is ideal, as you can still keep an eye on adverts while carrying on with work on your PC," comments Rui Pereira, general manager at Rectron.
"The card can also capture broadcast footage and use the video input to connect your VCR or camcorder," he adds.
Featuring a Webtext engine, the PCTV Rave enables users to surf around the Teletext services through a browser, taking advantage of Web features such as bookmarks and searches.
"Once you`ve fitted the card into your computer, the accompanying Pinnacle Installation Assistant on CD-ROM will guide you through a relatively easy installation process," he says.
