Micro-blogging site Twitter will send users a daily summary of what they have missed, via push notification.
The social media company says: "While your home timeline is a great place to browse and engage with tweets, we know it can be challenging to find the time to get through everything you'd like to see."
Highlights is a summary of the most interesting and relevant things that happened on Twitter, while the user was away from the platform.
It was previously released in English to Android users but has now been extended globally in all languages that Twitter supports.
"To create your Highlights, we look at things like the accounts and conversations that are popular among people you follow, tweets from people you're closely tied to, topics and events that are trending in your area or within your network, and people that are popular or trending among people you follow," says the company in a blog post.
Users will get a notification on their phone, and when this is opened, will be taken inside the Twitter app. Highlights will be displayed in a new interface, showing one 'highlight' at a time. Users will have to swipe through these to get to their normal Twitter timeline.
Twitter users will have to ensure notifications are turned on in mobile settings to receive Highlights.
The feature will roll out over the next few weeks and is only available to Android users at the moment.
