UAE gets Alcatel-Lucent solution
Al-Futtaim Technologies, a major systems integrator and member of Al-Futtaim Group, has reportedly implemented OmniGenesys, an advanced contact centre solution for Rakbank, according to TMCnet.
The new contact centre solution for Rakbank has been installed at the bank's two contact centres with the implementation done by Alcatel-Lucent and Al-Futtaim Technologies.
The deployment has enabled the bank to deliver seamless and consistent customer service, while improving response time and reducing costs.
Public sector lagging behind
Research carried out by Rostrvm Solutions has shown that public sector call centres are not making the most of technology such as computer telephone integration (CTI), according to ChannelEMEA.
Rostrvm Solutions' research reveals that less than 20% of public sector contact centres take advantage of the technology compared with over 50% in the private sector.
Ken Reid of Rostrvm Solutions commented: “Public authorities need to look closely at the advantages brought about by CTI”.
Work for wounded soldiers
A US firm that trains and re-employs wounded American soldiers is looking at American Samoa's proposed call centres as an employment opportunity for returning injured service members, reports Radio New Zealand International.
The company is Smart Solutions of Delaware, headed by John Scudi, a retired Rear Admiral.
Governor Togiola Tulafono met with Scudi two weeks ago on the US mainland to discuss the possibilities.
