A new partnership between UBC Commerce and Cognos, a business intelligence company, is bringing leading-edge business information tools to the classroom and enhancing real-world training capabilities.
Working closely with Cognos technical support, the Management Information Division at UBC Commerce will now provide students with direct access to and training with the Cognos Business Intelligence solution.
"This partnership with UBC Commerce will allow Cognos to educate tomorrow`s business leaders about the powerful benefits delivered by Cognos business intelligence solutions," says Dennis Murphy, Cognos area vice president, Canada. "We embrace this opportunity to supplement UBC Commerce`s curriculum with our market-leading technology."
Cognos is used by organisations worldwide to perform sophisticated analysis on business data. Each year, 160 students will investigate how to extract and analyse business data and how to use this to create business improvement strategies using Cognos` business intelligence. The program is already in use in UBC Commerce curriculum.
