UCS chairman resigns

Johannesburg, 02 Feb 2006

Richard Goodman has resigned as chairman of JSE-listed UCS Group.

UCS has told shareholders that Goodman, who will stay on as a non-executive director, has decided to reduce his duties at the group to focus on his practice as an advocate of the Cape High Court.

Goodman held the chairmanship of UCS, a holding company for and outsourcing operations, since early 2002 when he replaced Bert Levenstein.

UCS Group Duncan Coles has resigned his current position to replace Goodman as chairman.

Coles has also resigned as company secretary, with that function to be carried out by Corporate CC.

Coles, who joined UCS in 1979, was appointed to the board in 1998.

He remains director of various subsidiaries, including UCS Software and UCS Software Manufacturing.

The UCS share was trading unchanged at 175c on the JSE this morning after 35 500 shares changed hands in two deals.
