UCS Technology Services (UCS TS) has been awarded the contract to provide hardware support and management for automation equipment in the Engen dealer network. This entails the provision of services to 800 Engen retail outlets across South Africa.
Engen enjoys the leadership position in the South African fuel retail market with the largest retail fuel network in the country. Its convenience store brands include 1Stop, 1Plus and On-the-Go.
UCS TS has a long history with Engen for retail and forecourt management solutions spanning over two decades. UCS TS provides several core functions through an experienced and knowledgeable team, including micro-electronics manufacture, software development and service desk support and with the extension of the scope now including hardware support this is truly an end-to-end service.
Saul Gorin, UCS Technology Services CEO, gave insight to some of the key contributing factors that won UCS TS this contract.
"We believe our passion for service excellence and deep retail and fuel industry experience are the key factors that set us apart. We have a deep understanding of Engen's objectives and actively work with the company in attaining its goals. UCS TS is proud to have won the contract and we look forward to providing a quality service to Engen and its retailers."
Japie Muller, Engen's Retail IT Manager offered this information on the growing relationship with UCS TS.
"Engen's retail environment continues to become increasingly sophisticated and complex. Fuel, convenience, bakery, fast food, Woolworths and value added services are challenging in themselves. To provide it in a single retail footprint on a 24/7 basis is extreme. Our technology solution that delivers this is truly world-class and we need world-class partners like UCS TS to provide support in our environment."
UCS TS continues to benefit and grow as southern Africa's retail environment strengthens and matures. With this proven ability to deliver reliable and complex services, it is no surprise that they are winning more tenders.
