UK govt criticises CM
The UK Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) says Whitehall departments are not routinely checking value for money and applying financial penalties for poor performance, says Channel Register.
In a report on central government's management of service contracts, the committee said that although most departments monitor the performance of IT suppliers, they make limited use of financial incentives to encourage good service. Planning and governance were found to be one of the weaker areas of contract management.
Edward Leigh, chairman of the PAC, says: "It is a disturbing finding that, where services being supplied are sub-standard, nearly 40% of departmental contract managers chose not to apply financial penalties to the supplier - even though they are entitled to do so."
Coreworx, ProExecute team up
Coreworx, a subsidiary of Acorn Energy, has signed an agreement with ProExecute for the rights to their contract management solution, reports PR Newswire.
Coreworx will now be extending its Project Information Control platform for capital projects to include the first integrated contract and document management solution designed to address the complete construction contract life cycle.
Ray Simonson, CEO of Coreworx, says: "Our plans include integrating contract management with Coreworx document management, work flows and project intelligence reports and dashboards.”
