TAS Software SA (Pty) Ltd has announced that it has come under full common ownership of UK-based TAS Software plc. TAS Software plc focuses on the development, marketing and support of accounting and payroll software for small to medium-sized enterprises (SME) and is currently the second largest developer of this type of software in the UK.
TAS Software plc has been developing accounting software for more than 20 years and TAS was the first entry-level accounting system to receive formal accreditation by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. It has established a broad footprint in the UK and Ireland with over 100,000 units sold.
TAS Software SA (Pty) Ltd originally started off as a joint venture between TAS Software plc and a South African-based accounting software development company, but effective August 2000, it was fully merged into the UK Group. "TAS Software plc fully understands the needs of the SME business, and we certainly want them to feel that they now have a choice as far as accounting software is concerned", commented Theo Van Dort, CEO of TAS Software plc.
TAS Software SA (Pty) Ltd has now been in South Africa for just over a year and the entire TAS software product range released locally has been specifically customised for the South African market and is fully compatible with local accounting practice, tax and VAT regulations, including a built-in and fully functional VAT 201 form. The range includes both small office, home office-type (SOHO) products as well as SME, multi-user products, ranging from as little as R799 upwards. All the TAS products include an unconditional 60-day money back guarantee as well as 90 days free telephone support and there is a full upgrade path throughout the entire range.
"TAS Software SA has already gained a substantial reputation for delivering quality, full 32-bit, state-of-the-art accounting software as well as unsurpassed levels of service and support to our customers", added John Antunes, director of TAS Software SA.
"Our comprehensive product range enables us to provide flexible accounting software systems to virtually any type of business and we`re committed to providing these systems in order to benefit local commerce", said Antunes.
Van Dort says that TAS expanded into Ireland only five years ago and quickly became the market leader there.
"We believe that our entry into South Africa will benefit the South African SME business sector. TAS Software SA is in an excellent position to offer sales, support and advice on accounting and business software and we`re delighted with the acquisition", concluded Van Dort.
