Ukash awarded Payments Company of the Year

London, UK, 16 May 2012

Ukash, the leading global e-money network and specialist in prepaid payment solutions for the gaming sector, has been awarded for excellence at the B2B eGaming Review Awards as Payments Company of the Year 2012.

The eGaming award follows on from the announcement that Ukash has once again been awarded the Queen's Award for International Trade, which was announced last month.

David Hunter, CEO of www.Ukash.com, said: “To be recognised twice in a four-week period for outstanding achievement as industry specialists and also awarded for high performance by HM the Queen reflects the hard work and dedication shown by our staff and partners. It's these ongoing efforts that have enabled more and more consumers and players all over the world to spend cash online safely and simply.”

The EGR B2B Awards is the eGaming service provider's and B2B operator's industry event of the year, with payments companies such as paysafecard.com, Skrill, SafeCharge and WorldPay all competing for the title of Payments Company of the Year.

In the last five years, Ukash has expanded from eight to 57 countries, and is now available at over 420 000 physical points of purchase across six continents.

Ukash has reported 85% year-on-year growth in both 2010 and 2011, and projected growth for 2012 remains in excess of 70%. Customer satisfaction is another indicator of Ukash's success, with 89% of customers saying they would recommend Ukash.*

Ukash empowers people to exchange their coins and banknotes for a unique 19-digit Ukash code, which can be used as payment at thousands of Web sites. With Ukash, online payments are safe, secure and convenient, with no need to reveal personal financial information.

Established in 2005, Ukash has grown to over 420 000 physical points of purchase in over 50 countries around the world, across six continents.

The technology behind Ukash empowers consumers to use cash electronically, irrespective of status, device or boundary, regardless of having a credit or debit card, and enables them to stay in control of spending. This opens up new markets for companies to sell their goods and services online to those without credit or debit cards, even bank accounts, and those simply reluctant to give financial details online.

Ukash is regulated by the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA) and operates as one of only a small number of Electronic Money Institutions, a status that allows a single maximum online cash payment transaction of up to lb500/EUR750.
