Ultra Technologies, a member of the Softline Group, has announced that it will be among the first dealers in South Africa to offer the new Pentium III (PIII).
"The new chip offers much more than a simple progression from Pentium II," said West McMullin, deputy managing director, Ultra Technologies.
"Speech recognition applications will be considerably enhanced with the new processor. Intel has also given the PIII a total of 70 ne processor instruction which will speed up specially written games, internet plug-ins and graphics.
"We anticipate much of the demand for the new high-end machines to come from users with high-end graphics packages because of the improved resolution and colour depth reflecting near photographic quality. Improved speeds in business applications will also ensure that any organisation upgrading their systems will benefit from moving to PIII," he said.
Ultra Technologies has branches in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth.
