Local enterprise project management (EPM) solution provider, UMT Project and Portfolio Management Services South Africa (UMT SA), has concluded a BEE transaction, whereby the Notsi Group will now own a 25.1% shareholding in the ordinary share capital of the company.
As a specialist EPM implementation company, UMT SA has assisted organisations with enterprise project management for the past nine years, having implemented more EPM solutions than any other Microsoft partner in South Africa.
UMT SA CEO Pieter Meyer says it is a complex task to implement an EPM solution and one needs the correct skill set. “It is vitally important to choose a company with experience and knowledge of the product. Besides the commercial transaction, UMT SA will benefit extensively from the market experience of the directors of the Notsi Group.
“Notsi Group owns companies such as nVisionIT, BUI and Notsi Technologies, all Microsoft Gold Partners with various competencies and specific areas of expertise. They bring to the fore a host of complementary solutions such as infrastructure, security, unified communications integration for EPM and SharePoint solutions. The Notsi Group is poised to be the most comprehensive provider of end-to-end Microsoft solutions to the market,” he explains.
Notsi Group executive director Agnat Makgoale says UMT SA is a strategically selected investment. “We have targeted UMT SA specifically because of its dominance in the field of portfolio, programme and project management (PPPM) solutions, especially from what we have seen over the past few years. It is also a perfect fit with the other investments that we have made. More importantly, we will have an active role in the ongoing management and growth of the company.
“We are excited by the prospects; UMT SA has been a clear leader in PPPM for over 10 years. The company supports, but is not limited to, industry leading toolsets, which include Microsoft's Enterprise Project Management solution, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, PSLink for SAP integration and EPK for resource management. It also provides training and mentoring services for these solutions, making it a perfect fit for our portfolio,” he concludes.
