eBusiness specialist and subsidiary of JSE-listed Unihold Limited, Unihold Business Solutions, has extended the offering on its customer-controlled portal, MyUnihold.com, to include performance diagnostics and service level monitoring.
Almarie Rabie, of Unihold`s Business Process Management (BPM) division, says the portal represents the first manifestation of Unihold having joined the Envive Private Label Partner Programme and uses that company`s suite of hosted performance management solutions. "It allows us to fulfil our aim of simplifying eBusiness performance management by transforming it into a self-serve, hosted service," she says.
Dubbed Sensory, the new service is hosted by MyUnihold.com and accurately measures customer experience using sensors from various locations around the world. It can constantly monitor Web sites, Intranet applications and corporate portals, produce regular service level reports, alert IT personnel when guaranteed service levels are not being achieved, and be used to dynamically execute varying test transactions from any location for problem diagnosis.
Rabie cites cost as the primary advantage of this service. "Software tools and utilities that provide such functionality are often prohibitively expensive and complex to implement," she says.
"Utilising MyUnihold.com companies, big or small, can now affordably test, monitor and diagnose the scalability, performance and availability of their eBusiness applications and infrastructure - without having to purchase or install any additional hardware or software.
The portal is designed to offer an integrated approach to eBusiness performance management. "Sensory is tightly integrated with Prophecy, Unihold`s performance testing service," she adds.
Rabie says this integration allows companies to load test their Web sites using the same customer transactions and monitoring locations as are used to verify service level performance. The integrated approach to testing and monitoring assures companies that their sites will deliver the performance their customers need.
