A Web-based product unique in SA has been launched by Cape-based software specialist Soft Craft Systems.
SASurvey - www.sasurvey.co.za - allows a company, organisation, department or individual to construct and run tailor-made in-house surveys and questionnaires in an extremely simple and efficient environment, eliminating the need for time-consuming paper-based surveys.
It also abolishes the long delay for data to be captured, organised and made available in reports.
Intelligence-gathering lies at the heart of any successful business plan. Relevant, timeous and well-organised information provides insights, which can be used to redirect a marketing plan, salvage an ailing bottom line or assist an external sales force to optimise profit.
SASurvey was developed in response to a need within Soft Craft Systems. Management needed a system to gather up-to-the-minute information from staff and clients using a clean and simple solution, and to have the information instantly available to decision-makers. Since no such tool existed on the SA Internet market at the time, the skills of the in-house systems developers were employed. They devised a means for users with no programming skills and limited computer skills to develop and deploy a fully functional survey to an unlimited number of respondents.
It takes only minutes to set up a questionnaire, and staff and client feedback becomes easily accessible within seconds of completion of the survey. Unique screen loading features incorporating the latest DHTML technologies mean that surveys can be completed in no time. This enables management to make educated business decisions timeously and with the required insight.
"It was a quick and efficient way to find out how our field force feels about the tools we provide them, as well as finding out what they need to help them grow into the future," says Mike Lamb, Marketing Systems Manager at Old Mutual Group Schemes.
Excellent reporting tools are available for survey feedback, including bar and pie charts and drill-through functionality. The survey data can also be exported to other formats such as MS Excel and CSV files. Data is secure and access is restricted and protected by password security.
Sandy Sandeman of Old Mutual Group Schemes comments: "The survey format was quick and easy for staff to use and provided the exact feedback that we needed to evaluate an intranet site we had launched. In addition, the way the survey results were displayed was very user-friendly."
Soft Craft Systems employs highly-qualified and skilled consultants to provide integrated IT solutions to national and international private sector, research and public sector organisations such as Old Mutual, Medical Research Council and District Health.
