Local ICT software developer and distributor, Unison Communications has restructured its channel operation. The announcement comes after the completion of Unison`s intellectual capital acquisition programme.
Unison has doubled its channel staff to focus on the sales of its telephone management, voice processing and fax server systems through its network of telecommunication and information technology value-added resellers (VARs).
Craig Young, Unison`s newly appointed head of sales and business development, says: "We`ve segmented our channel operation into streamlined business units to service our VARs in their different niche sectors."
These business units include the Partner Technology, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Office Automation and the African channel.
Regionally, Unison is also in the process of restructuring its Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal operations.
The company plans to focus on the selling of its three mainline offerings - telephone management, voice processing and fax server systems -promoting its unified communication platform strategy and offering.
Stella Nova, Unison`s suite of telephone management systems (TMS), gives companies total control of their telephony costs. With solutions aimed at the SMME right through to large enterprise, the company says Stella Nova offers a very capable facility to handle cost allocation which goes far beyond what one would expect from an ordinary TMS. With very little effort and absolute ease of use, it is possible to generate a number of highly useful summary reports to help bring a company`s telecommunication costs dramatically down.
Their Voice Processing solutions, UNIvoice range from interactive voice response (IVR) systems to voice mail (retrievable via e-mail) and automated attendants.
UNIfax is Unison`s third leg of its unified communications platform. UNIfax, a server-based fax solution, allows all users on a network to send and receive faxes directly to and from their desktops. UNIfax presents a number of delivery options, which include: via PABX to internal or external fax numbers (timed or immediate), via e-mail to desktop, on mobile phone SMS, or via Web interface. A single platform supports both voice mail and fax mail, without the need to provide separate systems.
Derek Morris, Unison`s managing director, concludes: "With our solid technology offering backed by our intellectual capital bank and our national service and support infrastructure, Unison is positively poised to face the current challenges presented in the IT and telecommunications sector."
