Unisys adds Besser Company to growing roster of Information Technology outsourcing clients

Unisys Corporation today announced that it has won a five-year information technology outsourcing contract from Besser Company. Headquartered in Alpena, Michigan, Besser is a supplier of systems for the production of concrete products.

A new client, Besser will be served from the Unisys state-of-the-art outsourcing facility in Eagan, Minnesota. The Eagan Service Center will provide Besser with 7x24 computer operations, as well as technical, database and help desk support. The agreement also moves Besser to a year 2000 ready platform.

"This outsourcing partnership is a major step forward for us," said James Arbuckle, Besser executive vice president and chief financial officer.

"Our contract with Unisys will provide Besser with greater flexibility, an increase in computing power and a cost savings over the term of our contract. In addition, Unisys is the ideal partner to assist us as we move into the future."
