Unisys today announced a global agreement with Elron Software, the leading provider of Internet policy management solutions. Unisys will integrate Internet Manager and Message Inspector from Elron Software into the Unisys e-@ction Solutions they provide to customers in the Internet banking, CRM, eProcurement and eCommerce markets.
It is becoming increasingly important for organisations to effectively manage the flow of content into and out of their network. By integrating Internet Manager into their solutions, Unisys can offer clients the ability to proactively monitor and manage web access. Using Internet Manager`s exclusive SmartList technology, web site access is dynamically classified based on actual content, allowing organisations to enforce an Internet Usage Policy by reporting, or, if necessary, blocking access to particular sites.
The agreement includes the integration of Message Inspector, which is the only intelligent content filtering solution on the market for e-mail, newsgroup and ftp Messages. This will enable Unisys customers to limit their exposure to offensive messages, protect company confidential information and prevent unwanted emails from entering their organisation such as spam or malicious viruses such as `I LOVE YOU.`
"We assessed several technology vendors, and Elron Software was the only supplier that could provide our customers with a complete range of Internet policy management solutions including comprehensive auditing and reporting on Internet usage coupled with intelligent content filtering," said Ian Price, global programme director, Unisys European Security Centre of Excellence. "It`s no longer sufficient, for example, to simply check against static lists of inappropriate web sites - Internet Manager actually performs real time analysis of every site accessed. We also found that many content filtering products only perform rudimentary checking of keywords in e-mail traffic. Message Inspector goes further by performing full text analysis of all e-mail, FTP and newsgroup content. Using Elron Software`s award-winning products will allow us to significantly enhance the security of our eBusiness solutions."
"Unisys extensive portfolio of electronic business solutions and services complement our comprehensive family of Internet Management solutions, which enable organisations to develop, implement and manage Internet usage policies," said Pat Dunne, director of international sales at Elron Software. "We are pleased to provide organisations worldwide with the ability to align Internet usage with business priorities."
