In a venture that demonstrates the changing way the world shares and enjoys entertainment, Unisys Corporation is collaborating with other leading technology companies to cybercast the 1998 Intel New York Music Festival, July 15 - 18. The cybercast -- broadcasting from www.intelfest.com -- will link music lovers around the world to 300 artists in 20 music venues via the Internet.
As the exclusive systems provider for the event, Unisys is providing all servers and PCs to run the mission-critical cybercast applications as well as on-site systems support during the events.
Unisys will also award an Aquanta DLX desktop system recognizing winners of the "Pick Your Favorite Band" contest for best signed band and best non-signed band, as selected by attendees to www.intelfest.com.

Unisys is providing the entire hardware computing solutions suite for the event, including five Aquanta DS/2 two-way servers, 55 Aquanta DLX desktop computers and six Aquanta EN/M notebook computers. The servers are configured with 333-MHz dual-Pentium II processors; the desktop computers are equipped with 300-MHz Pentium II processors; and the notebooks utilize 266-MHz Pentium MMX processors. These systems will run the mission-critical applications crucial to the success of this event including audio and video streaming encoders, Web authoring stations, Web monitoring stations, and administrative systems. The 1998 Intel New York Music Festival Web site will feature live cybercasts; a 24-hour audio and video channel highlighting past performances and exclusive festival footage; live chats with the artists; behind-the-scenes photos; exclusive audio and video interviews; digitally downloadable music; and an online music retail "e-store."
