As part of its ninth annual conference held on 9 and 10 April 2014 at SAP in Walldorf, United VARs, the world's largest alliance of SAP midmarket consulting partners, introduced plans to significantly expand its service portfolio. In addition to SAP implementation projects, such as international roll-outs, these plans also call for using a >>follow the sun
The conditions and essentials for accomplishing this are good. The lack of local ties and close customer relationships is an increasingly heard criticism when dealing with global IT providers that concentrate their consulting resources in off-shore centres. This kind of situation also adversely affects service quality. This is not the case with United VARs partners, who work together to deliver high-quality local customer support in the local language. Uniform quality standards and the precise understanding of an area's specific business rules, regulations and laws were the guiding ideas behind the alliance that All for One Steeb AG established together with Seidor S.A., Barcelona, in 2006. "The local customer relationships enjoyed by our United VARs partners form the essence of our future global application management services. We will build on these and intend to gradually expand in the direction of continued support services that we will provide 24/7/365, worldwide, and with consistently great service quality," emphasised Detlef Mehlmann, the United VARs Director (speaker) and Head of Business Development International at All for One Steeb AG.
New SAP projects and roll-outs will not be taking a back seat, however, and this business will continue to grow steadily. To date the alliance has jointly implemented more than 300 international SAP projects and together its current 25 partners employ more than 5 000 SAP consultants. These partners generate an annual business volume with SAP in excess of USD1.6 billion and serve a total of more than 8 000 SAP customers. This world's largest SAP consulting organisation for the midmarket segment has been further strengthened by the addition of its new partners illumiti (Canada), IBA (Belarus), SOA People (Luxemburg) and Westrocon (South Africa).
SAP itself considers the alliance to be an important sounding board. Kevin Gilroy, SAP Senior Vice President Global Indirect Channels: "Together with United VARs we are shaping the channels of the future." Gilroy is also the United VARs Steering Committee Member SAP and, along with Bobby Vetter, Senior Vice President Global Ecosystem and Channels, is helping foster the top executive dialogue between SAP and United VARs on all levels. This ninth United VARs Annual Conference offered what within the SAP ecosystem is a truly exclusive and comprehensive look at new SAP solutions and the momentum these provide for the benefit of midmarket customers all over the world. "Westrocon is proud to be the United VARs member for South Africa and views this as a great opportunity to leverage the collective know-how of the group and deliver the latest technology and world-class service to our customers," says Martin van Wyk, Managing Director at Westrocon.
