AirLive's new EtherWe-1000U Adapter now enables South African Nintendo Wii console gamers to easily connect to the Internet and become part of the global community which participates in online Wii games.
Made available to the South African channel by Nology, a distributing agent of broadband and networking solutions, and available at a suggested retail price of R250, the USB 2.0 10/100Mbps Ethernet adapter is an easy to use, cost-effective enabler of Wii online gaming.
"Wii is enjoying considerable popularity in South Africa and what better way to gain the full experience than easily connecting to the numerous online games available too," comments Pierre Holtzhausen, channel manager at Nology.
The EtherWe-1000U is 100% plug-and-play and can simply be connected to the USB port of the Wii. The adapter can then be connected directly to an ADSL router to gain access to the Internet.
With a transfer rate of up to 100Mbps, AirLive EtherWe-1000U is about twice as fast as the built-in Wii WiFi connection. Furthermore, when the Wii is connected to the Internet, additional Wii channels are available for the whole family to enjoy.
Apart from Wii, the adapter can also be used as a Fast Ethernet adapter and supports all major operating systems.
