Old Mutual`s newly-appointed CIO, Theo Nkoni, will be among the speakers at an upcoming IT in business conference.
Nkoni will be making his first public appearance since joining Old Mutual at the upcoming Brainstorm Cape conference in September. Speaking on day one of the conference, Nkoni will dissect the role of the future-focused CIO in matching ever-changing technologies to business needs.
Brainstorm Cape is billed as the region`s top annual IT business forum, and is hosted by ITWeb Informatica.
The event will be staged at the Cullinan Hotel on 14 and 15 September and will include discussions on the future direction of IT and telecommunications in South Africa, as well as in-depth insights and practical advice on meeting the key challenges facing the burgeoning SME sector.
Day one of the event will identify "the new wave of ICT technologies and where the next killer app is likely to come from". Speakers include Nirvesh Sooful from the City of Cape Town and Greg Payne from Internet Solutions.
On Day two, speakers will focus on small business and its ICT challenges. Speakers include Richard Holt from Qualia, offering experiential insights and practical advice on identifying and creating opportunities and Areef Suleman from the IDC, who will bring into focus the various SME funding options - and how to secure them.
