Power supply solutions company UPScom, a division of the JSE-listed Square One Solutions Group, has established a southern African distribution network with the appointment of four distributors to service Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Swaziland.
"This network is the first step in our programme to establish a presence across sub-Saharan Africa," says UPScom managing director Neill Schreiber. "We are now working on extending our channel into East Africa and negotiations are in progress with potential distributors in the region."
Schreiber adds that the distributors not only sell UPScom products but have the technical capability to provide all-encompassing service and support. UPScom offers a full range of products, services and solutions to meet the power supply needs of PCs and servers, small networks (LANs), mini-computers, telecommunications equipment and industrial electronic equipment. Large customised system solutions are supplied to major corporations and government.
The product range is from 400VA at the bottom end of the market to individual units rated at 480kVA for large installations. Extended run-times, rack-mounted units and smart shutdown software options are also offered.
UPScom is an APC High Power Partner (HPP), marketing and servicing the state-of-the-art APC Silcon 3-phase range from 10kVA up to 480kVA and the mission-critical redundant APC Symmetra range up to 16kVA. For DC applications UPScom provides sophisticated and ultra-reliable APC DC Power range up to 1200Amp output, in single cabinets or parallel configurations.
