
Upstarts join Gartner Magic Quadrant
Research giant Gartner released its Magic Quadrant report for Web content management (WCM), reports Destination CRM.
With the mobile Web rising in importance, veterans Oracle, Open Text, and Autonomy share space with upstarts SDL, Sitecore, and FatWire Software in the 'leaders' category of Gartner's Magic Quadrant.
Toby Bell, vice-president in Gartner research, says portable devices such as the iPad and smartphones are making a considerable impact on WCM. "There's no doubt that community and mobility represent new horizons for online channel optimisation.”
Asia Pacific content management grows
A recent survey by IDC indicates a 12% growth in the Asia Pacific content management market, grossing $122 million, states CMS Wire.
According to IDC, Australia, Korea, India and Singapore made up 77% of the total revenue for the content management market in the region.
The firm predicts that the market will reach $477 million by 2015. It claims compliance initiatives and regulations are two factors that will drive the growth of the content management market in Asia-Pacific.
Aegis Mobile eyes social media
Aegis Mobile has rolled out Apollo Mobile, a mobile content management system, says BtoB Online.
Apollo Mobile is designed to facilitate mobile commerce for retailers and online marketers.
The software features product comparisons, a retail store locator and integration with social media networks including Facebook and Twitter.
